On Wednesday, November 19, EMP|SFM will honor legendary songwriter, guitarist and producer Robbie Robertson at the 2008 Founders Award Celebration, a benefit for EMP|SFM’s youth-based education programs.

The award will recognize Robertson’s artistic achievements that have shaped the landscape of popular music and influenced a generation of artists across all genres. Robertson’s career includes membership in The Band, a distinguished solo career and highly acclaimed work as a producer.

Established in 2007, the Founders Award recognizes artists who have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields. Ann and Nancy Wilson received the inaugural Founders Award for their profound influence on popular music and their groundbreaking work as female artists. The Founders Award Celebration will include dinner and a tribute concert in Sky Church.
