“Halo 3: ODST” Launch Event
Details
On Monday, Sept. 21, Microsoft and Bungie will host a blockbuster launch event at EMP|SFM to celebrate the launch of “Halo 3: ODST,” the latest installment in the world-renowned video game franchise.

Hundreds (and potentially thousands) of fans will gather to meet the creators of “Halo” and play the game on dozens of Xbox 360 kiosks in advance of its official launch at midnight. Panel discussions, a costume contest, game tournaments and a party atmosphere will engulf EMP|SFM.

Across the country, more than 7,000 retailers will open their doors this Tuesday at the stroke of midnight to waves of “Halo” fans eager to experience the next big chapter in the “Halo” series.

“Halo” is a billion-dollar franchise and one of the most popular entertainment properties in the world, with more than 27 million copies sold to date.

EMP|SFM Rules for Costumes with Weapons
  • No functional weapons are allowed at EMP|SFM.
  • Simulated or costume weapons are allowed as part of your costume subject to inspection and approval by security (prior to entry)and compliance with the following:
  • All costume weapons must be inspected at the security station located at the event’s entrance.
  • All costume weapons must conform to state and federal law.
  • Projectile costume weapons must be rendered inoperable.
  • Costume swords will be tied to your costume in such a way that it can't be drawn.
  • After each individual’s costume weapon has been checked, it will be tagged by security and the individual will be given a wristband designating that the weapons have been checked.
  • Any individual found in the building without a tagged costume weapon will be immediately escorted to the security station where your weapon will be inspected.
  • Any individual who does not want a costume weapons inspected or tagged, or is not willing to comply with the foregoing, should not bring costume weapons.
