EMP|SFM is recruiting students ages
16 and older with an interest in music, strong written and oral communication skills, and solid computer skills to support program development and implementation. Internships at EMP|SFM span a broad range of interests, with interns generally committing anywhere between 15 and 40 hours per week for a suggested three-month period. The program recruits and partners with students who complete project-based assignments which qualify them for academic credit at their schools.
Please note: EMP|SFM's internships are unpaid opportunities for students seeking academic credit only.
We suggest that applicants identify several internships and prioritize their preferences within their cover letter.
Once we have received the cover letter, resume and writing sample (if applicable), we share them with supervisors, conduct telephone interviews when applicable, and schedule interviews.
EMP|SFM greatly values the opportunity to provide an environment conducive to the exchange of ideas and learning experiences. Internship supervisors work with each intern to set goals and identify projects which qualify for academic credit and meet organizational needs.
Academic interns receive a training opportunity for their benefit. They are not EMP|SFM employees. EMP|SFM provides no compensation to academic interns, and reserves the right to terminate the internship at any time, with or without cause.
