EMP's 3rd Annual Sound Off! Young People's Band Competition.

This year's Sound Off!, EMP's competition for musicians ages 21 and under, concluded on Saturday, February 28 with fantastic performances by Bellingham's Idiot Pilot, the Port Angeles band The Lonely H, and Mountlake Terrace three-piece Mon Frere.

Congratulations to Mon Frere - Sound Off! 2004 Winners

The judges had some difficult decisions to make and the scores were very close, but Mon Frere were ultimately chosen as the grand-prize winner! The trio wins a spot at next year's Bumbershoot, a Fender Stratocaster, an in-studio performance on KEXP 90.3's Audioasis, and two days of studio time from Electrokitty Recording.

Coming in second place was The Lonely H
Coming in second was The Lonely H, who won a Fender Stratocaster, two days of studio time from Orbit Audio, and guaranteed airplay on 1077 The End's The Young and the Restless. The Lonely H also won the audience participation award, three additional hours of recording time from Jack Straw Productions.

Coming in third place was Idiot Pilot
Idiot Pilot took third place, and received two days of studio time from 7hill Studios, a $100 gift certificate from Plato's Closet vintage clothing store, and a Sub Pop Records prize pack
